INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Temperatures have dropped to near zero or below throughout Indiana, with gusty winds that have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a wind chill advisory for the entire state.
The weather service reported wind chills early Thursday of about 20 degrees below zero in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, along with about 5 below zero in Evansville.
Dozens of school districts across the state delayed the start of classes because of the cold temperatures. Some districts have canceled school for Thursday.
The weather service says the wind chills will remain 15 below or colder for much of the state through Friday morning.
