GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Jay Hook scored 17 points and hit three 3-pointers in the final three minutes as Tulane topped East Carolina 59-54 on Thursday night.

Tulane (11-9, 3-2 Conference USA) was trailing by a point with less than three minutes to play when Hook made a 3 to give the Green Wave a 51-49 lead with 2:43 left. Hook then hit a 3-pointer on Tulane’s next possession and another with 22 seconds left to help seal the win for the Green Wave.

Jonathan Stark added 13 points for Tulane while Kevin Thomas had four blocks.

Tulane held East Carolina (11-8, 0-4) to a season-low 54 points, just 36 percent shooting from the field and 4 of 20 from beyond the arc. The Pirates have now lost four straight and six of their last seven.
