BLOOMFIELD, Pa. (AP) - A 33-year-old central Pennsylvania man is facing criminal homicide charges after a 3-month-old girl died from head trauma.

State police said Thursday they charged Joshua Michael Gross of New Bloomfield for the death of the girl.

An ambulance crew was called to a home in Bloomfield on Saturday after the girl wasn’t breathing. Police say the child’s injuries showed “abusive head trauma consistent with shaking.”

Gross, engaged to the girl’s mother, had previously been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and endangering a child’s welfare.

Court officials say Gross doesn’t have a lawyer listed in court records. State police say he’s being held in the Perry County Prison without bail.
