SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins and forward Rudy Gay are both considered day-to-day with injuries.
The team said Thursday that Cousins was diagnosed with a sprained left ankle and Gay has a strained left Achilles tendon. Sacramento’s leading scorers were injured during the first half of Wednesday night’s 119-98 loss at the Houston Rockets.
The Kings host the Indiana Pacers on Friday night.
Cousins was injured on a hard foul by Patrick Beverley that drew a technical in the second quarter. Gay limped off the court in the first quarter.
Cousins is averaging 22.6 points, 11.6 rebounds and three assists. Gay is averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and three assists in 21 games since the Kings acquired him in a trade with Toronto on Dec. 9.
