RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina has a website to help new parents learn what assistance the government can provide to help children grow up healthy and prepared for school.
The website is called Early Childhood North Carolina. It is billed by Gov. Pat McCrory’s office as a one-stop portal for information about support and services for children from birth to age 5 and their families. It can be found at https://www.earlychildhood.nc.gov/
The site has information on pre-kindergarten and child-care subsidies, where to go for flu shots and how to apply for Medicaid or NC Health Choice insurance coverage. Information on services for children with disabilities also is provided.
The site’s home page also includes a video message from McCrory.
