GAUTIER, Miss. (AP) - A 23-year-old man made his initial appearance in Gautier Municipal Court after being charged with capital murder in the Jan. 14 death of Hunter Miller of Biloxi.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1eE1HKn ) Judge Jason Thornton did not set a bond Wednesday for Nicholas Marcel De Morst because it is a capital murder charge.

Twenty-four-year-old Freddie Lee Lawrence has been charged with accessory after the fact for allegedly helping De Morst avoid arrest. Lawrence’s bond was set for $50,000.

Miller was found on Jan. 14 in a car that crashed in Gautier.

Police do not believe De Morst and Miller knew one another. Police said a man in the car with Miller is being treated as a witness.
