PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Police in Pullman, Wash., say they have made an arrest in the case of two people recently struck by blow darts.

Cmdr. Chris Tennant said Wednesday that detectives investigated two blow dart attacks in Pullman on the night of Jan. 12. In one case, a 20-year-old woman was hit as she stood on a sidewalk. In the second, a man was hit while out walking. In each case, the darts penetrated about a half inch into the skin. Both darts matched.

Pullman police posted photos of a possible suspect vehicle on their website and got a helpful tip.

Tennant says Pullman police arrested 18-year-old Joseph B. Gillies of Tacoma for investigation of third-degree assault in their cases. It was not known late Wednesday whether he was represented by a lawyer.
