BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Dr. John & The Nite Trippers will headline the Baton Rouge Blues Festival this spring in Repentance Park and Galvez Plaza.

Although the New Orleans singer-pianist and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee usually appears each spring at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, the five-time Grammy winner is not scheduled to perform there this year.

The New Orleans Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1f9OiZK ) Dr. John is to appear at the blues festival April 12.

Other acts scheduled to appear include Kenny Neal with Henry Gray, Black Joe Lewis, Naomi Shelton and the Gospel Queens, Little Freddie King, Johnny Sansone, Black Pistol Fire, Chris LeBlanc, Jeffery Broussard and the Creole Cowboys, Brother Dege and Baton Rouge Music Studios.
