CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Another 8,000 Nevadans have selected health insurance policies through the state’s online insurance market in the past month

A spokesman for the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange says that 20,399 plans have been selected as of Saturday. Of those, 13,159 have actually enrolled by paying for their policies.

But the figures are well below a target of 118,000 enrollments by the end of March. That’s the deadline for people to sign up and avoid a tax penalty under the federal health care reform law.
