HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - An approaching snow storm has led to the cancellation of an appearance in Hartford by U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.

Duncan had been scheduled to visit University High School of Science and Engineering for a town hall meeting on improving access to a college education.

Hartford school officials say the meeting will be rescheduled for another date due weather conditions and early school dismissal.

The meeting was intended to highlight the recent release of the 2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid and available resources to help students access higher education.

Duncan visited Hartford last May to discuss the federal government’s efforts to improve school security in the wake of the Newtown school shooting.
