CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A truck has spilled hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel in downtown Casper but authorities report there were no injuries.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1aHF1rZ ) the smell of diesel was wafting near downtown on Tuesday afternoon.

More than 200 gallons of fuel spilled onto First Street, near the intersection at Yellowstone Highway at about noon. The leak has been stopped but authorities couldn’t estimate how long the road will remain closed.

Jason Parks with the Casper Fire Department says the leak happened when a trailer unhitched from a truck hauling about 3,000 gallons of diesel and punctured the vessel carrying the fuel.

Fire crews and other emergency responders arrived within minutes and dumped foam and other absorbents and kept the leak from reaching storm drains.
