SCRIBA, N.Y. (AP) - State police a trooper has suffered minor injuries in a crash at an intersection in central New York.
Officials say Trooper Eric Parsons was driving his patrol car on Route 29 around 1 p.m. Monday when he failed to stop at a stop sign in the Oswego County town of Scriba (SKREYE’-buh) and was hit by another vehicle.
Troopers say both vehicles went off the road and came to a rest in an open field.
Parsons, a 28-year veteran of the state police, was taken to a Syracuse hospital for treatment of minor facial injuries and lower back pain.
Troopers say the other vehicle was driven by a 48-year-old woman from Redwood in neighboring Jefferson County. She was treated for hip and chest pain.
Police say their investigation is continuing.
