NEW YORK (AP) - The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it expects to run modified service Wednesday on its subways, buses and commuter rail lines as it digs out of the latest snowstorm to wallop the New York metropolitan area.

The MTA says the Long Island Rail Road will run on a weekend schedule. Metro-North Railroad will operate 80 to 85 percent of its normal weekday service with some trains combined and some delays possible based on conditions.

The New York City subway system expects to run close to normal service Wednesday.

New York City buses will run at 80 to 90 percent of normal levels, depending on demand.

Up to 14 inches of snow is expected to fall in the New York area by Wednesday morning.
