SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Gov. Gary Herbert has announced Utah State School Board member Tami Pyfer will serve as his new education adviser.
Herbert’s office announced the pick Tuesday.
Pyfer has served on the school board since 2010.
The governor’s office says she will resign her post on the board to work in the governor’s administration.
She replaces Christine Kearl, who stepped down from the position after 10 years.
Pyfer served on the Logan City Council for eight years.
She was also a member of the board of directors for the Logan Schools Foundation for seven years after serving as the foundation’s executive director for another seven years.
