ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Five elderly women inside a Southern California adult day care center were left with minor injuries after a passenger van drove into the building.

Arcadia Fire Department spokeswoman Beth Stogner told the Los Angeles Times (https://lat.ms/1jwCX8K) that an employee of the center was driving the van with no passengers inside when it hit the building on Tuesday afternoon.

Five women were taken to Arcadia Methodist hospital including one with chest pains and shortness of breath, but Stogner called all the injuries minor.

Paramedics examined the driver, but he refused treatment.
