The family-owned business featured on hit reality television show “Duck Dynasty” has partnered with Mossberg manufacturers to make its own line of shotguns.
The Duck Commander company will produce with Mossberg nine different firearms, including two semiautomatic shotguns and a semiautomatic handgun, CNN reported.
Mossberg has already started shipping shotguns to distributors, gauging interest and drumming up business, said company spokeswoman Lisa Powell. She declined to tell which retailers had expressed interest so far, according to CNN.
Phil Robertson, the family patriarch, founded Duck Commander 40 years ago near his Louisiana home. He and his sons are in several advertisement spots on Mossberg’s website about the new firearms line, one of which includes Mr. Robertson saying, “Do you know what makes me happy ladies and gentlemen? To blow a mallard drake’s head smooth off.”
Mr. Robertson was recently embroiled in a national controversy for his comments about homosexuality being a sin as based on biblical teachings. A&E, which airs “Duck Dynasty,” suspended him briefly but reinstated his contract and announced that filming for the new season would continue as planned.
Mossberg said in a release that the new Duck Commander firearms will come in a “waterfowl pattern” camouflage design and will have the Duck Commander logo — a duck in flight — stamped on the side.

The pistol and one of the planned rifles will mirror military design and hold high-capacity magazines of 25 rounds or more. The .22-caliber pistol is “perfect for small game, plinking, target shooting — or clearing cottonmouths out of your duck blind,” Mossberg said.
All the firearms will come with a U.S. flag bandana, like “the one worn by Willie,” one of the show’s characters, Mossberg said.
