TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Tempe police have arrested a woman after she hit a pedestrian and caused a chain of car collisions in a Walmart parking lot.
Authorities say the female pedestrian is recovering for serious, non-life-threatening injuries after she was hit by 31-year-old Christy Kupper’s vehicle Friday.
Police say Kupper collided with a vehicle in the intersection of Rural Road and Southern Avenue at about 6:20 p.m., causing that vehicle to hit another.
They say Kupper then sped away from the scene and into the Walmart parking lot.
According to police, she hit a curb and rear-ended a Mazda, causing the Mazda to hit an occupied truck. Kupper’s car then spun around, striking the victim.
Kupper faces several charges, including super extreme DUI, hit-and-run, aggravated assault and endangerment.
