THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Brandon Pye hit a critical 3-pointer with 1:56 left to give Texas A&M-Corpus Christi all the points it needed for a comeback win Saturday at Nicholls State 70-65.

Joy Williamson capped a 10-0 run for the Islanders to take the lead for good at 65-61 with 4:38 remaining. Williamson made two more free throws and Pye’s 3-pointer put Texas A&M-CC up 70-65.

Jeremy Smith made a jumper to bring Nicholls State within three with 54 seconds to go. He also had the chance to send the game to overtime on a last-second 3-point attempt, but the Islanders forced a tough shot that rimmed out.

Jake Kocher and John Jordan each had 13 points for Texas A&M-CC (8-11, 5-1 Southland Conference) which remains undefeated in its four road conference games so far.

Jeremy Smith led the Colonels (7-8, 4-2) with 17 points while T.J. Carpenter and Dantrell Thomas each added 11.
