DELAND, Fla. (AP) - Willie Green scored 24 points as Stetson defeated South Carolina-Upstate 77-73 on Saturday.

A putback by Stetson’s Brian Pegg with 41 seconds left in regulation sent the game into overtime after Torrey Craig missed a 3-pointer for Upstate (9-10, 2-4 Atlantic Sun).

Green put the Hatters (5-14, 3-4) on top with the first basket of the overtime. Hunter Miller and Green added a free throw apiece and Aaron Graham two more to leave the Hatters ahead 76-70 with 1:13 left. Greene got the Spartans’ only points of the extra period with a 3-pointer but a free throw by Pegg with 8 seconds sealed the outcome.

Pegg finished with 13 rebounds along with 10 points. Kentwan Smith added 12 points.

Greene led the Spartans with 20 points with Craig scoring 17 and Karim Mawuenyega a career-high 11.

The game was tight throughout with 18 lead changes and 12 ties.
