NAPLES, Italy (AP) - Midfielder Jorginho has joined Napoli from Hellas Verona, signing a contract until 2018.
Jorginho, who joins in a co-ownership deal, says on Saturday, “I am happy to be able to wear this shirt, Napoli is a great club.”
Jorginho has been key to Verona’s successful first half of the season back in Serie A.
The 22-year-old has seven goals in 18 matches and Verona lies sixth in the standings.
Napoli is third, 10 points behind leader Juventus after 19 matches.
Jorginho was born in Brazil but moved as a kid to Italy, where he progressed through the ranks at Verona.
