CHICAGO (AP) - A gunman has opened fire on an SUV that was broken down on the side of a highway exit ramp on Chicago’s South Side, wounding three people.
Illinois State Police are investigating the shooting, which took place early Saturday morning on Interstate 94.
The shooter fired on the group as they were waiting for help with their disabled vehicle and then fled.
The driver of the SUV was shot four times. Two passengers in the back seat were also hit multiple times. A fourth person in the front seat was unharmed.
Illinois State Police Trooper David Roman says they were taken to hospitals in stable condition.
State police had no suspects in custody Saturday morning.
