NEW YORK (AP) - Closer Bobby Parnell agreed Friday to a $3.7 million, one-year contract with the New York Mets, while second baseman Daniel Murphy settled for $5.7 million and left fielder Eric Young Jr. for $1.85 million.
The agreements left Lucas Duda and Dillon Gee as the last Mets players in arbitration.
Parnell didn’t pitch after July 30 and had surgery Sept. 10 to repair a herniated disk in his neck. He has been working out in Florida. He was 5-5 with a career-best 2.16 ERA last year and 22 saves in 26 chances.
Murphy hit. 286 and set career bests with 13 homers and a team-high 78 RBIs.
The speedy Young was a pleasant surprise in the leadoff spot last season after he was acquired from Colorado in June for pitcher Collin McHugh. Young led the NL with 46 stolen bases and made $492,000.
Gee asked for a raise from $527,375 to $4.05 million, and the Mets offered $3.2 million. Duda requested a hike from $519,240 to $1.9 million and was offered $1.35 million. Hearings are held next months for players who don’t reach agreements.
