COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A boy who was 14 when he was charged with robbing and killing a man who came to buy marijuana will be tried as an adult.

The Columbus Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1acx7t1 ) reports that the boy, now 15, is charged with killing 64-year-old Anthony Hines on Feb. 4 at the southeast Columbus home the teen shared with his mother.

The boy told police he was acting in self-defense when he shot Reeder in the face and then took his wallet. A juvenile court judge said following a hearing Thursday that the claim “isn’t really probable” and ruled that he’s not a candidate for rehabilitation in the juvenile system.

The judge set bond for the boy at $250,000.
