POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) - A 33-year-old upstate New York man has been charged with stealing tens of thousands of dollars from a fireman’s union.

Brian Wilson of Hyde Park was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with grand larceny. He’s accused of stealing over $78,000 from the City of Poughkeepsie Fireman’s Union bank account. Troopers say Wilson stole the money while he served as union treasurer from 2009-13.

Wilson was arraigned in City of Poughkeepsie Court and released on his own recognizance. He’s scheduled to re-appear in court on Feb. 20.
