DOVER, Vt. (AP) - Residents in Windham County and surrounding areas will be asked at Town Meeting to contribute about $3 each to help fund economic development in southern Vermont.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports (https://bit.ly/1bI41RH) representatives of Southeastern Vermont Economic Development Strategies are asking 27 towns in the region for funding. A similar request was made last year.

In February, the group started working with businesses to create a five-year hiring inventory of the top 25 largest employers in the area. The information gathered from the 25 businesses will then go onto colleges, career centers and other job market place arenas.
