SEATTLE (AP) - The city of Lynnwood will pay a woman $150,000 to settle a lawsuit she filed after police charged her with a false report because they didn’t believe she had been raped.
It turns out the woman was a victim of serial rapist Marc O’Leary who admitted the 2008 crime and is serving a 327-year sentence in Colorado for raping three women there.
The Seattle Times reports (https://is.gd/dCfwb5) police didn’t believe the Lynnwood woman and forced her to recant. She was threatened with eviction unless she underwent counseling and said she had lied about being raped.
