ATLANTA (AP) - Authorities say former NBA player Javaris Crittenton was among more than a dozen people arrested amid a metro Atlanta drug trafficking probe.
The office of Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard Jr. said 14 people were arrested Wednesday after a seven-month investigation.
District Attorney’s spokeswoman Yvette Jones says in a statement that Crittenton and the others are accused of selling cocaine and several hundred pounds of marijuana.
Crittenton’s attorney, Brian Steel, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution his client is innocent, adding they’ll “fight any and every false allegation” against Crittenton.
Crittenton was out on bond awaiting trial on murder charges in the August 2011 shooting death of an Atlanta woman.
Crittenton played with Los Angeles, Memphis and Washington. He signed a non-guarantee contract with Charlotte Bobcats in 2010 before being waved.
