EINDHOVEN, Netherlands (AP) - Costa Rica striker Bryan Ruiz is moving from Fulham to PSV Eindhoven on loan for the remainder of the season as he seeks more playing time ahead of the World Cup.

Ruiz is swapping one struggling team for another. PSV has had a disastrous first half of the season in the Dutch league and is in seventh place, 11 points behind leader Ajax. Fulham is 16th in the 20-team Premier League.

The contract he signed Wednesday should give the 28-year-old Ruiz more opportunities to play as he seeks form ahead of Costa Rica’s World Cup campaign in Brazil. He has appeared only 14 times for Fulham this season.

Ruiz helped FC Twente win the Dutch league title in 2010.
