OLYMPIA - A House committee holds a public hearing on a measure seeking to overhaul the state’s medical marijuana system in order to reconcile that market with the state’s new legal recreational one. The Health Care & Wellness Committee will hear a bill sponsored by Rep. Eileen Cody that would reduce the amount of marijuana patients can possess, eliminate collective gardens, and require patients to get an official card from the state Department of Health. SEATTLE - Three months after Gov. Jay Inslee pledged to adopt a low carbon fuel standard during a summit with leaders of Oregon, California and British Columbia, some Republican lawmakers say they want to make sure he doesn’t take unilateral action. One Republican legislator is sponsoring a measure to prevent the governor from taking executive action to pass a rule requiring fuel producers to offer fuels that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
