ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Anchorage Mayor Dan Sullivan has reimbursed the city for a portion of two trips during which the Republican lieutenant governor candidate conducted political fundraisers.
The Anchorage Daily News reports (https://is.gd/7jSdxa) Sullivan repaid the city $214.
He says the amount is a pro-rated basis for the cost of the two trips last year, to Washington, D.C., and the Kenai Peninsula.
Reimbursements aren’t required under the city code, but he says he made the reimbursement on advice of state election officials.
On the Washington trip, Sullivan conducted a fundraiser at the offices of Blank Rome, a lobbying firm that has been paid than $400,000 from the city since Sullivan took office.
During the other trip, he conducted a fundraiser at a home after he spoke to the Soldotna and Kenai chambers.
