RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Service to several N.C. Department of Transportation traffic cameras and overhead message boards in Winston-Salem will be undergoing testing and will be disrupted for one day.

The department said the tests are scheduled for Tuesday.

Feeds from various traffic cameras along Interstate 40 and U.S. 52 in Winston-Salem will be unavailable for several hours while crews perform tests on 144 fiber lines.

Testing is scheduled to begin at approximately 9 a.m. and is expected to be completed by noon. No images from the cameras will be available during the testing, and the truck rollover system recently installed at I-40 and U.S. 52 will also be interrupted.

The network helps motorists save time and money by allowing them to use real-time images to make informed decisions to avoid traffic trouble spots.
