JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dan Sullivan says he raised nearly $1.3 million during his first fundraising quarter.
Sullivan’s campaign provided the topline number ahead of the fourth-quarter filing deadline with the Federal Election Commission. It didn’t provide further financial details, though a spokesman said Sullivan donated $500.
Sullivan announced his candidacy in October. He is the first of the race’s major candidates to report a fourth-quarter fundraising tally.
The total he reported is huge compared to the initial fundraising numbers of his GOP rivals, Mead Treadwell and Joe Miller.
It also is larger than any quarterly haul raised by Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Begich during the first three quarters of 2013.
Sullivan, in a release, said the amount he’s raised from Alaska and elsewhere shows his message is resonating.
