LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man has died hours after he was stabbed during a dispute on a Los Angeles subway train.

Sheriff’s Department Transit Detective Keith Schumaker told the Los Angeles Times (https://lat.ms/L5BBX5 ) there was a brief verbal exchange captured by a security camera on the Metro Red Line train near Hollywood on Monday morning, then the suspect pulled a weapon and lunged at the victim.

Sheriff’s officials say the train stopped at the Vermont/Santa Monica Station and the victim was taken to LA County USC Medical Center, where he died about nine hours later.

The name of the victim, described as a man in his 30s, was not immediately released.

Authorities are looking for the suspect, who is described as 18 to 24 years old.
