CHICAGO (AP) - Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has appointed a new solicitor general in her office.
Madigan said Tuesday that professor Carolyn Shapiro of IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law will take the role. The solicitor general is in charge of more than 40 attorneys in Madigan’s appellate division and serves as a legal adviser to the attorney general.
Shapiro replaces Michael Scodro, who is joining the Chicago office of the Jenner and Block law firm.
