KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) - Kennesaw State University officials say former Atlanta mayor, congressman and United Nations ambassador, Andrew Young, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the school’s Martin Luther King Day program.

Officials say the Sunday evening event will feature a book signing and the school is also sponsoring a day of community service projects on Jan. 18.

Young worked alongside King during the civil rights movement and was elected to congress in 1972.

He was appointed to serve in the United Nations by President Jimmy Carter in 1977 and helped secure Atlanta’s bid for the 1996 summer Olympics.
