WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (AP) - The Defense Department is scheduled to launch three rockets from a NASA facility on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

NASA says three Terrier-Orion suborbital rockets are scheduled for launch between 1 and 5 a.m. on Tuesday. The launches will occur from NASA’s launch range at the Wallops Flight Facility.

The backup launch days are Wednesday through Saturday. NASA says the rockets will be launched within a 20-second period and may be visible from southern New Jersey to Virginia Beach, Va.

The NASA Visitor Center at Wallops will not be open for viewing the launch. The Defense Department has also requested that NASA not provide real-time launch updates.
