Around the same time the Philadelphia Eagles were losing to the New Orleans Saints, a burglar was hitting the home of Philly’s DeSean Jackson, taking tens of thousands of dollars in cash and jewels along with a couple of handguns.
Fox 29 in Philadelphia reported that Mr. Jackson was out of town when the burglars hit. When he returned home, he discovered that $250,000 in cash, $125,000 in jewelry and two semi-automatic handguns were stolen, he told the local network.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry.
The Bleacher Report said Mr. Jackson has offered $50,000 in reward money for anyone who could provide information about the burglary that leads to an arrest and conviction.
Mr. Jackson’s publicist disputed the amount of cash that was stolen in the incident, saying in a statement reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer that the “large sum that was taken was in items” and that it occurred while he was on vacation last weekend. The Eagles lost to the Saints on Saturday, 26-24.
Philadelphia police haven’t made an arrest, but are investigating, the Bleacher Report said.
