STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart has been named Big 12 Player of the Week.

Smart, a sophomore, averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds in wins over Texas and West Virginia. He had scored 24 points and 11 boards for his first double-double of the year in an 87-74 win over Texas on Jan. 8. He followed that with another double-double, 22 points and a career-best 13 rebounds in the 73-72 victory at West Virginia on Jan. 11.

Smart made 12 of 26 field goals and 16 of 20 free throws in the two games combined. He added 10 assists, seven steals, two blocked shots and just three turnovers in 72 minutes.

It is the third time overall and second time this season Smart has won the award.
