ATLANTA (AP) - The Martin Luther King Center and the Atlanta Hawks have launched a partnership to ask high school students to embrace nonviolence in honor of the civil rights icon.

King Center CEO Bernice King says professional athletes have a “unique credibility” with young people, and their stances on nonviolence could resonate through communities.

Organizers are asking teens to change their social media profile photos to the “No Shots Fired” logo being used for the campaign and post a picture or video on Instagram or Twitter explaining why a life of nonviolence is important. Participants are asked to use the hashtags #ATLHAWKS with #CHOOSENONVIOLENCE.

Officials say submissions will be randomly chosen and awarded tickets to the Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami Heat game Jan. 20.

The campaign runs through Jan. 17.
