LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles authorities say DNA evidence has led to the arrest of a man suspected of brutally beating and raping a 29-year-old woman in her apartment in 2012.

The Los Angeles Times reports Monday (https://lat.ms/L2778g ) that sheriff’s investigators were led to 26-year-old Pablo Reyes Bautista after his DNA turned up as a match in a national database.

Following a manhunt Bautista was arrested in Atwater Village.

Sheriff’s officials say he used to live in Rowland Heights, where the alleged attack occurred on Oct. 27, 2012.

Bautista is charged with rape by force, aggravated mayhem and burglary.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
