Target company heads said on Friday the data breach that hit their stores a few weeks ago may actually have impacted up to 70 million customers.
Originally, the retail giant estimated 40 million may have been impacted.
The latest details of its investigation, however, show “that the stolen information includes names, mailing addresses, phone numbers or email addresses for up to 70 million individuals,” the company said in a statement reported by USA Today.
The data breach is believed to have occurred in-store only at the point where customers swiped their debit and credit cards.
