The White House organized a lunch/photo op for President Obama Friday with five young people to drive home the administration’s message about the importance of young adults enrolling in Obamacare.
Mr. Obama met the group at The Coupe restaurant in the Columbia Heights section of Washington to hear about their outreach efforts at signing up people for the health-care insurance.
“The president wanted to hear directly from young people about their experiences spreading the word about the importance of signing up for quality, affordable health insurance and thank them for their efforts,” the White House said in a statement.
The president’s lunch-mates were Anne Johnson, executive director of Generation Progress, the youth division of the liberal Center for American Progress, a Washington think-tank; David Dimock, a small business owner in Maryland who attended a White House Youth Summit to learn more about the Affordable Care Act; Jasmine Hicks, an official at Young Invincibles, an organization that is mobilizing young people across the country to spread the word about Obamacare; radio personality Tommy McFly of 94.7 FM; and Andres Cruz, an employee at DC Health Link In-Person who helps people enroll for insurance.
