Colorado marijuana stocks run low, one week into legalization

Smoke ’em if you got ’em — and in Colorado, marijuana users have taken that quip to an entirely new level.

Marijuana stocks are running low, just one week into a new law that allows for those age 21 and older to buy and smoke the weed for recreational uses.

The New York Post reported a couple of stores have already shuttered operations — albeit temporarily — because of lack of product.

“We are currently out of recreational cannabis,” one sign on the door of The Clinic in Denver read, the newspaper reported. “Sorry for the inconvenience.”

And at least one more store, called the 3D Cannabis Center, closed doors on Monday and Tuesday to restock supplies and give staffers a much-needed break. Apparently, The New York Post reported, the rush since the new law allowing recreational buys went into effect on New Year’s Day was too taxing for store workers and suppliers to take.
