CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) - Justin Sears scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Yale in a 74-67 victory that snapped Harvard’s 20-game home win streak on Saturday night and moved the Bulldogs alongside the Crimson atop the Ivy League.
Holding a 39-35 advantage at the break after eight first-half lead changes, Yale (11-9, 5-1) opened the second period with a 6-0 spurt capped by a Sears jumper. The Bulldogs then protected the lead down the stretch.
Javier Duren contributed 15 points, while Armani Cotton added 13 plus 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who shot 51 percent from the field and had a 38-24 rebounding advantage in their fourth-straight win.
Harvard (18-4, 5-1) went cold from 3-point range in the second half, hitting 2 of 13, and shooting just 39 percent from the field overall.
Wesley Saunders led the Crimson with 16 points, while Brandyn Curry had 12 and Siyani Chambers 10.
