WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A South Florida man has once again been sentenced to life in prison for his part in a 2005 burglary that got his friend killed.
A Palm Beach County judge sentenced Christopher Dean on Friday after a jury convicted him of felony murder and burglary.
Authorities say Eric Flint was fleeing on foot after he and Dean broke into a West Palm Beach apartment. The resident pursued Flint and Dean in his SUV and ending up running over Flint. Prosecutors charged Dean with Flint’s death because Florida law states a person can be charged with felony murder if someone dies while the person is committing a felony.
The Palm Beach Post (https://goo.gl/KlyvS5 ) reports that Dean was originally convicted and given a life sentence in 2008, but that case was overturned because of improper jury instructions.
