DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Medical Center is hosting an event where families can sign up for health care insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
Medical center officials say certified application counselors will be on hand Feb. 15 at the Samaritan Center in Detroit.
The resource fair is part of the DMC Path to Health campaign that was launched in January.
The medical center says in a release that it is committed to working with local organizations and elected officials to provide city residents with basic education and assistance on accessing affordable health insurance under new health care laws.
Food and shopping demonstrations will be held at the event. Blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings also will be offered.
