LATHAM, N.Y. (AP) - Two similar looking brothers from upstate New York have been arrested after they impersonated each other during a traffic stop.

New York State Police officials said Friday neither Shahyer Hussain nor his younger brother Nauman Hussain had identification on them when they were pulled over Thursday outside of Albany.

Troopers said the 25-year-old Shahyer was behind the wheel but was adamant that he was actually his 24-year-old brother, Nauman.

They said the two were arrested after an investigation revealed that Shahyer’s license was revoked and had 28 suspensions, that he’d used his brother’s identity before and that combined, the duo had been ticketed more than 70 times.

They were charged with conspiracy and false personation. Shahyer was also charged with driving without a license.

They couldn’t be reached for comment.
