LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 54-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge in a fatal Las Vegas Strip fight after authorities determined the victim died from a fall rather than a punch.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1l6b4Fi ) Joseph Hyde pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter earlier this week. He originally faced a murder charge in the death of 54-year-old Michael Burtosky.
A witness told police she saw two men who appeared to be homeless arguing on a pedestrian bridge between the MGM Grand and New York New York casinos on Sept. 14.
She told officers one man punched the other and shoved him to the ground, where he went unconscious.
Burtosky was taken to the hospital and died of a head injury three days later.
Hyde is set for sentencing April 7.
