BALTIMORE (AP) - First baseman Matt LaPorta and the Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a minor league contract.

The 29-year-old had spent four seasons with the Cleveland Indians, but has not played in the major leagues since 2012.

LaPorta was the seventh overall pick by Milwaukee in the 2007 amateur draft and was acquired by Cleveland the following year as part of the trade that sent CC Sabathia to the Brewers. He hit .238 with 31 homers and 120 RBIs in 291 games with the Indians from 2009-12. His best year was 2011, when he hit .247 with 11 home runs and 53 RBIs.

He will report to the Orioles’ minor league spring training camp under Friday’s agreement.
