PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - Alex Rosenberg scored 19 points, and Meiko Lyles hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 28 seconds left as Columbia edged Princeton 53-52 on Friday for its first win at Jadwin Gymnasium since 1993.
Princeton (12-6, 0-4 Ivy League) led 52-47 before Isaac Cohen’s 3-pointer with 1:27 left cut the lead to 52-50. Columbia (14-8, 3-2) called a timeout with 31 seconds left after a steal by Rosenberg. Lyles then hit a catch-and-shoot 3-pointer out of the timeout, his only points of the night.
Columbia held off the Tigers at the other end, as Luke Petrasek blocked T.J. Bray’s go-ahead attempt with 13 seconds left. Princeton regained possession but Ben Hazel missed a shot with 3 seconds remaining and Petrasek grabbed the rebound to secure the win.
Bray led Princeton with 17 points. Hans Brase added 13.
Columbia’s win snapped a 20-game losing streak for the Lions at Princeton.
